SPS(Sewage Pumping Station)

Sewage pumping station (SPS) is designed for pumping domestic and storm water waste in cases when organized and gravity drainage removal is not possible.

SPS is used for pumping waste water from underground reservoirs to higher ground sewers and to supply wastewater treatment facilities.

Sewage pumping station (SPS) is designed for pumping domestic and storm water waste in cases when organized and gravity drainage removal is not possible.

SPS is used for pumping waste water from underground reservoirs to higher ground sewers and to supply wastewater treatment facilities.

A standard SPS consists of the following elements:

The principle of operation of a sewage pumping station

Through the inlet pipe sewage flows into the collecting tank at the bottom of the SPS. When pumping untreated sewage, a trash basket must be installed at the end of the supply line. The working element of the SPS are pumps that are installed at the bottom of the tank with the help of auto-coupling, which provides a tight seal as well as easy assembly and disassembly of the pumps.

When the pump is turned on, the waste water enters the pressure sewerage network via the pressure pipe. On the pipelines of each pump there are check and gate valves installed. During normal operation of the SPS, all valves on the pipelines are in the “open ” position. In the case of the repair or network issues, valves are in the “closed” position.

To protect the SPS from low temperatures, the upper part of the structure is insulated. Access to the interior of the SPS, as well as assembly and disassembly of pump maintenance is carried out through the service hatch. Also, there is a ventilation pipe located at the top of the SPS.

Inside, on the wall of the receiving tank, are fixed four universal sensory floats, which are capable of switching voltages from 4V to 220V and can tolerate currents of up to 10A. With the help of these sensors the pump is controlled automatically.

The whole working process is controlled by means of 4 floating sensors:

  • The first sensor (at the bottom) – (protection against dry running of the pump), the sensor will disable the pump unit in the case of lowering the level of sewage in the receiving tank past the minimum (~ 500 mm from the bottom shell SPS (sewage pumping station));
  • The second sensor – provides the switching on of the working of the pump unit when it reaches a certain level of waste water (the level of the waste water is determined during commissioning);
  • The third sensor – enables the switching on of a second (backup) of the pump unit. This sensor is activated in case of exceeding inflow of sewage above calculated data. In this instance, the performance of the SPS (sewage pumping station) for pumping wastewater doubles, preventing an emergency situation. The sensor is triggered by the rise of wastewater in the receiving tank to the bottom of the tray level of the supply line;
  • The fourth sensor – signals an emergency: the failure of one of the pumps when the supply flow exceeds a set target. This sensor is triggered when the level of waste water reaches the top of the pipe. The triggere is duplicated by light signals on the remote automatic control installed in the immediate vicinity of the SPS (sewage pumping station). An alarm sensor of the fourth can also be duplicated via an audible signal to attract the attention of staff in case of emergency (in this case it would be necessary to cut off the flow in the SPS (sewage pumping station)).

Manufacture of sewage pumping station

SPS is manufactured on the basis of terms of reference received from the customer. Production time is up to 10-60 days. Our technologies allow us to produce SPS in diameter from 600 mm to 3200 mm to 12,000 mm.

The capacity of the pumping station is made from extruded polypropylene sheets. Connection between the sheets forming the container and the contour of the vessel is welded together. Internal elements of the SPS polypropylene are attached with manual extruders and hot-air blowers.
